I grew up around the greenhouse business and remember the industry before there were plastic pots! Honestly, no plastics. Greenhouses were made of glass and plants were grown in metal pots, clay and peat pot. Times have changed and I feel myself moving back to my roots in my own growing.

I grow without the use of pesticides of any kind and if a problem arises I only reach for a certified organic or biological solution. I know how to grow quality plants using crop timing, lower greenhouse temperatures and just enough fertilizer to produce stocky, well branched plants that continue to perform in your yard long after they leave our greenhouse. This year I will be adding worm compost to my soil mix and making my own worm compost tea as a fertilizer.

In an effort to reduce the use of new plastic pots in our industry in 2010, we are launching a refund program with our plastic hanging baskets and mixed planter pots. In addition we are conducting trials with a home compost-able pot made from wheat. That's appropriate for a palouse gardener, don't you think?

Solar Powered
We get our energy from the sun……just like plants.
In September 2008 we installed 12 solar photovoltaic panels, enough to make 100 % of our electrical needs.  We are very excited about this new addition and welcome any questions you may have about our system.
